Abstract

Of eighteenth-century England, a work containing the genre of horror was also called a black novel, where dark, obscure, inexplicable, frightening and terrifying events are presented. Events containing horror take place mainly in old buildings, mainly in built castles. in the "Gothic" style. As you know, the term "Gothic" is associated with the German tribe. "Goths" are associated with the architectural style of the Middle Ages. As for literature, where it is transmitted in a large dose, the Gothic style is credited with a mood in which the reader will get rid of feelings of fear and fear. - This is how it happens in fortresses.
